Later after her funeral, we went home to the house we would once never see again. We all wept while opening Christmas gifts from our Mother and it was most likely a lifetime of grief and sadness. We all prayed led by my brother-in-law MIke and we didn't want to leave the house. We all had our own house but knowing she was gone was devastating to us all. The very staple of our family is gone. I know every family deals with death differently and this was no easy task.. I had anger built up inside for such a long time. My mother has had asthma since she was 2 years old. Every single day of her life, each breath was a gift. She raised us right. She taught us to love everybody and not to have hate in our hearts. She was the most wonderful Mother in the world. Now, I know everyone feels the same about their mother. We all express loss in different ways. We go to the cemetary often and my sisters decorate her grave. I am to be buried right beside her. I took the job of being on the cemetery board in 2021 and I feel closer to my mother now that I am a part of this organization. Thank YOU Bob Cleary for your assistance. Mom is in heaven for sure and Cyndi sewed little rhinestones on her shirt she was buried in. Mom had made a thousand costumes for Cyndi's Studio and sewed millions of rhinestones on a million costumes. I mentioned earlier in the book that she did alterations, wedding gowns etc....She couldn't breathe sometimes her asthma would cause her to choke up over the smell of the material. I have asthma now and everytime I take a breathing treatment I remember her doing the same thing when I was a small child. I didn't understand at the time but I remember her gasping for each breath. God bless her heart.I have prayed daily for any harsh words I may have given her to be forgiven. She really struggled while I was away at college worrying about me. She would make trips to my ball games at University of Charleston for every game. Mamaw Markins and Papa would also come. Everytime I scored a basket papa would cry, mom said. He was such an emotional grandfather. Now, FANNIE! was relentless..lol She would yell at them refs like nobody's business. She was a pistol and if you were lucky enough to know her you know this is true. Read more
